Croí Cónaithe (Cities) Scheme
Grant value: Indirect benefit — government subsidises developers to make city apartments viable for owner-occupiers
A €450m government scheme that pays subsidies to apartment developers in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford to bridge the construction viability gap. The grant goes to the developer, not to you — but the result is more apartments available to buy at viable prices in cities. As of mid-2025, contracts were signed for over 1,000 apartments with more in progress.
