Croí Cónaithe (Cities) Scheme
A €450m government scheme that pays subsidies to apartment developers in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford to bridge the construction viability gap. The grant goes to the developer, not to you — but the result is more apartments available to buy at viable prices in cities. As of mid-2025, contracts were signed for over 1,000 apartments with more in progress.

Warm Homes Scheme
Provides free energy upgrades to homeowners who receive certain social welfare payments. SEAI manages the programme and assigns an approved contractor at no cost to you. As of January 2025, fossil fuel boilers (oil/gas) are no longer covered — the scheme now focuses on insulation and renewable heating (heat pumps).
