Help to Buy (HTB)
Grant value: Up to €30,000 or 10% of the purchase price (whichever is lower)
A tax rebate for first-time buyers purchasing a newly built home or self-building. You get back income tax and DIRT paid over the previous four years, up to €30,000.
Key Requirements
- ✓Must be a first-time buyer (all purchasers on the mortgage must qualify)
- ✓Property must be a new build or self-build — not a second-hand home
- ✓Purchase price must not exceed €500,000
- ✓Must take out a mortgage of at least 70% of the purchase price
- ✓Must live in the property for 5 years after purchase
