Heat Pump Grant
Grant value: Up to €12,500 — €6,500 for the heat pump, €2,000 for heating upgrades, plus €4,000 renewable heat bonus if replacing a fossil fuel system (increased February 2026)
A grant to replace your existing heating system with a heat pump (air-to-water, ground source, or exhaust air). The grant nearly doubled in February 2026 and now includes a bonus for replacing oil or gas boilers. Heat pumps are highly efficient and can significantly reduce heating bills.
Key Requirements
- ✓Home must have been built and occupied before 2021
- ✓A technical assessment is required before installation
- ✓Home must meet minimum insulation standard (or insulation must be upgraded first)
- ✓Must use an SEAI-registered contractor
- ✓Works must not have started before grant approval
- ✓€4,000 renewable heat bonus applies when replacing an existing fossil fuel (oil/gas) system
