Grant value: Free programme — SEAI funds community energy planning and gives members collective buying power for upgrades
A community-based programme where groups of homes, businesses and public buildings plan and deliver energy improvements together. SEAI funds the community group's planning and coordination costs. Individual members still apply for their own SEAI home energy grants but benefit from bulk pricing and shared project management. Over 600 active communities across Ireland.
Key Requirements
- ✓Join or form a Sustainable Energy Community group registered with SEAI
- ✓Community group must include at least one residential and one community or public building
- ✓SEAI provides grant funding to the group for coordination and project development
- ✓Individual homeowners apply separately for their own SEAI home energy grants
